Refund policy

We want you to love your purchase, but if something isn't right, we're here to help. This policy sets out your rights and our responsibilities under South Africa's Consumer Protection Act (CPA).

Standard Return Policy You have 30 days from the date you receive your order to request a return. To qualify, items must be in their original condition (unused, unworn and undamaged), in the original packaging with tags and seals intact, and accompanied by proof of purchase (e.g., order confirmation or receipt).

To start a return, contact us at info@sharpthings.co.za.  Items sent back without prior approval will not be accepted.

Returns of Non-Defective Physical Products (Change-of-Mind Returns) This section applies when a correctly supplied, non-defective physical product is returned for a reason unrelated to defective materials, poor workmanship, damage, incorrect supply or material misdescription, including where the customer has changed their mind or no longer wants or requires the product. SharpThings is not obliged to accept such a return, except where a statutory cooling-off or return right applies. Where SharpThings agrees, at its discretion, to accept the return, the product must be unused, undamaged and in a resalable condition, with its original packaging, sheath, accessories, Certificate of Authenticity and other documentation, where applicable. Any approved refund may be subject to a reasonable handling and restocking deduction of up to 10% of the purchase price to contribute towards non-refundable bank or payment-platform charges and the reasonable costs of administration, inspection, repackaging and restocking. Original delivery charges will not be refunded, and return or collection costs remain the customer's responsibility and may be deducted separately where arranged by SharpThings, except where otherwise required by law. No handling or restocking deduction will apply where the customer is legally entitled to a full refund. This provision applies only to physical products and does not alter the separate terms applicable to courses or gift vouchers.

Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items Certain items cannot be returned: perishable goods (e.g., food, flowers, or plants), custom or personalised products, personal care goods (e.g., beauty products), hazardous materials, flammable liquids or gases, sale items, and gift cards. Workshop bookings are non-returnable and non-refundable once confirmed — if you cannot attend, contact us as early as possible to discuss rescheduling. Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer law.

Damages & Issues Please inspect your order upon arrival. If the item is defective, damaged or incorrect, contact us immediately so we can make it right.

Exchanges The fastest way to get what you want is to return the item and place a separate purchase for the new item.

Refunds Once we've received and inspected your return, we'll notify you of the outcome. If approved, you'll be refunded to your original payment method within 10 business days. Your bank or card provider may take additional time to reflect the refund. If more than 15 business days have passed since approval, please contact us at info@sharpthings.co.za.

Your Rights Under the CPA This policy aligns with South Africa's Consumer Protection Act (CPA). You may return goods that are defective, not fit for purpose, or fail to meet quality standards within six months of purchase. We will arrange a repair, replacement or refund (at our discretion). These rights apply regardless of our standard 30-day return policy.

Cooling-Off Period for Online Purchases If you buy online, you're entitled to a 7-day cooling-off period. You may cancel your order within 7 days of receiving it for a full refund, provided the item is unused, unopened, and in its original packaging. Return shipping costs may apply.
