The Braai Chef Knife is a long, practical kitchen and braai-prep knife for customers who want more slicing control than a cleaver, but still want a knife with strong presence around the braai, kitchen counter or food-prep table.

The 200 mm blade gives the knife useful reach for slicing, portioning, trimming and general food preparation. It is better described as a chef-style knife than a cleaver, with a long cutting edge suited to meat preparation, vegetables, braai prep and everyday kitchen work.

The blade has a textured upper finish with a cleaner cutting section below, giving it a distinctive look without moving it into the South African handmade knife category. At 2.5 mm thick, it has enough body for confident use, while still staying practical for slicing and regular kitchen tasks.

The octagonal rosewood handle gives the knife a clean chef-knife feel with a warm, traditional wood finish. The handle shape suits controlled cutting and gives the knife a more refined profile than a standard broad kitchen knife.

This knife is listed in the SharpThings imported range and is kept separate from our South African handmade knives.

Material Note: AUS-10

AUS-10 is a well-known stainless knife steel used in many kitchen and chef-style knives because it offers good edge performance, corrosion resistance and practical everyday durability. It is a stronger material step than basic entry-level stainless steels, while still remaining sensible for customers who want a usable, affordable knife for food prep, braai work and regular kitchen cutting.
