Heavy Duty Skinner
5160 Skinner with Ironwood, G10 & Brass
Compact, bold, and built for real work, this custom heavy-duty Skinner is a small knife with serious capability. Forged from 5160 carbon steel, it carries unmistakable handmade character, clean where it matters, rugged where it counts.
The blade features a wide drop-point/modified harpoon profile with a deep belly, giving you excellent slicing performance and control for skinning and fine camp tasks. The forged flats still show subtle brute-de-forge/hammer scale texture, a signature finish that proves this blade was shaped by hand, not stamped out.
The handle is carved from Ironwood, contoured into an ergonomic grip that fills the hand securely. G10 and brass accents add contrast and durability, giving the knife a premium detail without losing its bush-ready feel.
The sheath matches the personality of the knife: a robust leather carry with dark-dyed inlays and heavy stitching, built for daily wear in the veld.

A proper skinner doesn’t need to be big. It needs to be right.
This knife was built around that idea—compact enough to stay nimble in hand, but tough enough to handle real work when the job turns messy. The deep belly gives you smooth slicing through hide, rope, and camp prep, while the forged texture on the flats keeps the knife honest: you can see the handwork, the heat, and the hammer in the finish.
The ironwood handle is shaped for control (comfortable, secure, and confident) even when the work gets slippery. Add the brass and G10 details, and you get a tool that feels both rugged and refined.
This is the kind of skinner that earns a permanent place on the belt, because it’s built for the jobs that actually happen outdoors.
