Olive Cleaver16
Small blade, broad shoulders, very little interest in sitting still.
The Olive Cleaver16 takes the attitude of a cleaver and packages it into a compact handmade knife that is far easier to use every day. Its approximately 105 mm blade is broad, stable and wonderfully controllable, giving it the kind of confidence on a cutting board that usually belongs to a much larger knife.
Forged around 1075 high carbon steel, the blade is suited to the practical work of slicing, chopping and food preparation, with enough height to keep fingers clear and enough face to move chopped ingredients around the board. It is particularly at home beside the braai, where the jobs are varied and space is usually being shared with three bowls, a chopping board and somebody else who thinks they are helping.
The stabilized Olive handle softens the utilitarian cleaver profile with warm natural grain, while brass pins keep the finish simple and traditional. The result feels less like a miniature novelty and more like a properly scaled working knife.
The Cleaver16 is easy to pack, easy to control and difficult to leave alone once it is on the board. Small enough to be convenient. Broad enough to be useful. Handmade enough to have a personality of its own.
A compact working cleaver built around an approximately 105 mm 1075 high carbon steel blade. Stabilized Olive and brass pins give the handle a warm traditional character, while the broad blade profile makes this small knife particularly useful for braai, camp and everyday board work.

Care and Protection
1075 high carbon steel should be wiped clean and dried immediately after use. Apply SharpWax lightly before storage and keep the leather sheath dry. A natural patina can develop over time and is normal for a working carbon steel blade.
Natural variation notice: SharpThings knives are handmade using natural hardwoods. No two pieces are identical — handle grain, colour and character will vary from the images shown. Photos are taken in a lightbox without post-processing to represent the knife accurately, but your piece will be uniquely its own.
