The Olive Haakdoring is a compact hand-forged 5160 utility knife with a wild olive handle and a horizontal-carry Kydex sheath.
Small does not mean soft. This is a short, thick and practical fixed blade with the feel of a thorn in the veld: compact, sharp, tough and ready when needed. With an 80 mm blade, 170 mm overall length and a strong 5 mm blade thickness, the Olive Haakdoring is built for easy carry and everyday cutting work.
The blade is hand-forged from 5160 carbon steel, giving it toughness, character and a rugged working finish. Its compact blade shape makes it useful for slicing, trimming, opening, food prep, camp jobs, bakkie use, braai prep and general utility carry.
The handle is made from wild olive wood, giving the knife a warm South African look with natural grain and colour variation. No two handles will look exactly the same, which adds to the character of each piece.
The knife comes with a Kydex sheath with a horizontal carry loop, making it easy to carry close to the belt and out of the way. It is a practical option for someone who wants a small fixed blade that is quick to access and genuinely useful.

Care and maintenance
5160 is not stainless steel, so it needs basic care after use. Wipe the blade clean and dry, especially after food prep, outdoor use or contact with moisture.
For storage, apply a light protective layer of SharpWax. SharpWax is made for protecting non-stainless steels and works well on knives used around the braai, camp, workshop and veld.
