The SideKick is built around that simple truth. It is the compact fixed blade you can keep close without feeling as though you packed for an expedition. Then, when something needs cutting, it is already there.

The broad little blade is forged from 5160 spring steel, giving the SideKick the tough, honest character that suits a working knife. At approximately 90 mm of blade, it stays compact and controllable while still giving you enough edge for the jobs that appear around camp, at the braai, on a hunting trip or during an ordinary weekend outdoors.

Cut biltong. Trim meat. Open packets. Make kindling shavings. Sort out cord, cable ties and the small camp jobs that somehow always need a knife. It is not trying to replace your big camp knife. It is the knife you reach for before you bother fetching it.

The Teak handle adds warmth and individuality to the dark forged blade, while brass pins keep the look simple and traditional. A leather sheath is included, making the SideKick easy to keep protected and ready for its next job.

Care and Protection

5160 is a high-carbon, non-stainless steel and will naturally develop character and patina with use. Wipe the blade clean and dry after use, particularly after contact with food or moisture. Do not leave the knife soaking in water and do not put it in a dishwasher.

Apply a light coat of SharpWax to the blade before storage to help protect the steel from fingerprints and humidity. SharpWax can also be used sparingly on the Teak handle.
