Braai Cleaver
The Braai Cleaver is a practical broad-bladed knife for customers who want a useful cutter for braai prep, kitchen work, meat preparation, your plankie steak and everyday food prep.
The 150 mm blade gives it a manageable working size, while the wide blade profile gives it more presence than a standard kitchen knife. The curved cutting edge helps with slicing, portioning and general board work, making it useful as a braai knife, chopper knife, kitchen knife or butcher-style food prep knife.
The blade has a textured upper section with a cleaner working bevel below, giving it a strong visual character without overcomplicating the design. At 2.5 mm thick, it is lighter and easier to control than a heavy cleaver, but still has enough body for confident use around the kitchen, braai area or outdoor food-prep table.
The Wenge handle gives the knife a darker, richer wood-handle look. The grain pattern, brass-coloured pins and shaped grip make it visually warmer than a plain utility knife, while still keeping the focus on practical everyday use.
This knife sits in the SharpThings imported range and is listed separately from our South African handmade knives.
Material Note: 5Cr15MoV Stainless Steel
The blade is made from 5Cr15MoV stainless steel. This is a practical stainless steel often used in affordable kitchen and utility knives because it offers good corrosion resistance, straightforward sharpening and sensible everyday performance. It is not a premium knife steel, but it is a good working choice for customers who want an easy-care stainless steel knife for braai prep, kitchen cutting, meat preparation and general food use.
