The StagBack 160 is a bold 5160 carbon steel camp and veld knife with a dark working finish, a strong 5 mm blade and a natural stag horn handle that gives every piece its own character.

This knife has presence. With a 160 mm blade, 130 mm handle and approximately 5 mm blade thickness, the StagBack 160 is built for users who want a serious fixed blade that feels solid in the hand. The broad blade shape gives it a useful belly for slicing, trimming, camp prep and heavier outdoor cutting tasks, while the strong spine and forward weight make it feel more capable than a light utility knife.

The blade is made from 5160 carbon steel, a tough steel well suited to hard-working outdoor knives. The dark upper finish gives the blade a rugged field look, while the cutting bevel is kept practical for real use around the braai, camp and veld.

The handle is made from stag horn, shaped into a full-sized grip and secured with visible pins. Stag horn adds natural texture, colour variation and old-school character, so no two handles will ever look exactly the same.

This is the kind of knife that belongs beside the fire, in a camp kit, on a belt, or in the hands of someone who appreciates a proper working blade.

Care and maintenance

5160 is not stainless steel, so it needs basic care after use. Wipe the blade clean and dry, especially after food prep, outdoor use or contact with moisture.

For storage, apply a light protective layer of SharpWax. SharpWax is made for protecting non-stainless steels and works well on knives used around the braai, camp and veld. Do not store the knife wet inside a leather sheath.
